In America, 1.9 million children between the ages of 3-17 have been diagnosed with depression. Depression is the cause of over two-thirds of the 30,000 reported suicides in the U.S. each year.

Just after the age of 18, Karisa Moore’s son, Jonathan, took his own life after a lifetime battle with unexplainable physical pain and depression. While there can be no deeper grief for a mother, Karisa shares their family’s story and gives tools to recognize depression and help those grieving after a suicide.

Karisa is an author, blogger, speaker, mother and wife, with a mission to open conversations and provide hope to those who deal with mental illness, depression and suicide. She’s authored the book Broken Butterflies. And you an find her blog, Turning the Page on Suicide, here.
